Tea of the Day: Passion Fruit Na Pali by Hawaiian Islands Te Company
Description: Anyone who’s traveled to the Na Pali coast of Kauai understands the majesty of the mountains standing against the pounding of the sea. It is this boldness that inspired the name of our bold and practically perfect passion fruit tea.
Dry tea smells very very sweet, and makes me think, for some reason, of plums.
Liquor is a dark brown in the cup
Tastes sweet and fruity, less like plum now and more like mango or papaya. Slightly bitter
Tea Rating: 2.5/5
♫ You’ll find a way, and may death find you alive..♪
Yes, I listen to popular radio. If you don’t know, that line is a snippet from “Uma Thurman”, by Fall Out Boy
But there is no shame in enjoying clever lyrics put to a catchy tune
This line in particular catches my attention because you kinda have to think about it.
“May death find you alive? How could death find you any other way?”
And then, the dawning realization: There is a difference between having a pulse and functioning brain and being alive.
You can survive but not live, like coma patients or people who are severely depressed or stuck in the past, unable to move forward. You can become numb and withdrawn, every snapshot of your life looking exactly the same as the one before, emotions buried because they’re not “safe”
So, new life goal:
Live the kind of life that makes Death reluctant to bring an end to your time
“There is no passion to be found playing small – in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living“. ~Nelson Mandela
