Tea of the Day: Turkish Tea by Summit Spice and Tea
Description: An exotic house blend of black tea with the delicate flavors of apricot, apple, and rose petals
Dry tea smells like chocolate-covered fruit, rich and sweet
Petals expand to a large extent as tea is steeped, use a tea basket!
Liquor is an orange-amber color in the cup
Tea is lightly floral-sweet without sugar
A little sugar enhances the apricot flavor
Only downside is that it seems to get more bitter as it cools, so no possibility of iced tea with this one
Tea Rating: 4.5/5
“Its not the things that most men fear that make me most afraid, but skies that burn too brightly blue and songs too sweetly played”
Found this a number of years ago now and every now and then, when life is heady like the strongest, smoothest wine or when the sky outside my room looks like a painting not real life this quote comes back to me
It comes back because it’s true, in a way
I don’t really fear those things; rather I fear their absence.
Sometimes, when things are wonderful, better than I ever would have thought possible, my mind falls to what would it be without those things.
There is so much good in the world, though many say there is more bad than good.
Perhaps that is true, but I would argue not.
Imagine, just for a moment, that all the good things in the world were gone. How different would ours lives be?
Drastically. Probably worse than we can even imagine, since the mind runs on patterns of things learned and for the most part we all have something good in our lives.
A world without goodness, without beauty, is not one I would want to know.
Thankfully, we do not live in that world.
With that in mind, my wish for you today is to be able to see the beauty in your life with fresh eyes, even just for a moment
