I love getting to know new people.

For a lot of reasons, but today I want to talk about just one

I love getting to know someone new because a lot of the time the conversation can spark a new perspective, or they’ll ask you something that you never specifically thought about before and that opens up a whole new level of self-awareness.

In my case, it was a question asked almost jokingly that got my brain going: “you love working out, huh?”

The answer is both yes and no, as it is with so many things in life.

In this case, it’s yes because it feels good to physically push my limits, but truthfully it’s more than just that. I love to push myself to be better in all the facets of my life.

My goal isn’t to be perfect, or better than anyone else, just to be the best version of me I possibly can.

This means taking care of myself, going to the gym or otherwise getting moving, learning at least one new thing every day, reaching out to people, working on being understanding, and not only admitting that there are things I can do better, but actually working on those things

I don’t want to settle for “OK” when I can have “Great”

Life is about the journey, but if you’re not working for some kind of goal, are you really on a journey at all?

“There was a teapot, in which Mma Ramotswe — the only lady private detective in Botwana — brewed tea. And three mugs — one for herself, one for her secretary, and one for the client. What else does a detective agency really need?”
