Earl Grey Supreme

Standard

Today’s tea: Earl Grey Supreme by Harney and Sons

Description: An elegant tea with a little extra bergamont….Ingriedients: Four black tea, silver tips and bergamont

Before steeping, tea smells rich and smokey and like citrus— something like a blend of lemons and oranges (which I found out, after I looked it up, is the bergamont)

Liquor is a rich brown in the cup. Has a pleasant citrus smell and when drank it fills the whole mouth, leaving behind a lovely citrus aftertaste.

Tea Rating: 4/5

A fleshing out of yesterday…

I have done a lot of things in the last few months that I had not thought I would. Some things are small and won’t mean much to anyone not inside my head, but there has been one consistent theme through all of it: risk. I don’t mean like “drive off a cliff to see what happens” kind of risk but the sort that has you nervous and excited and maybe even second guessing yourself… “should I have done/said that?” kind of risk.

The thing is if you don’t put yourself out there, don’t apply for that job, or tell that guy (or gal) you think they’re cute, then you’re never going to know. You might end up rejected, or not where you thought you would be (or even where you wanted to be), banged up, scarred…but you will have lived. You’ll grow and change and your memories will be full of moments that stand out. You’ll have a story to tell as a crotchety old person. And who doesn’t want that, really?

And remember, sometimes the biggest risk is not taking any risks at all

We had a kettle; we let it leak:
Our not repairing made it worse.
We haven’t had any tea for a week…
The bottom is out of the Universe.”
Rudyard Kipling
